邓志杰于2022年7月加入上海交通大学清源研究院，担任助理教授。他的主要研究方向为概率建模和深度学习。他已在ICML、NeurIPS、ICLR、CVPR、ICCV、JMLR等高水平会议和期刊上发表学术论文十余篇。相关论文多次受到同行专家的认可与好评，并获英伟达先锋研究奖等国际奖项。此外，他先后获清华大学启航奖、清华大学计算机系优秀毕业生、清华大学‘84’创新未来奖、VALSE焦点论文奖等奖项或荣誉。他还多次担任ICML、NeurIPS、ICLR、CVPR、ICCV、TIP等顶级国际会议和期刊的审稿人。

Zhijie Deng joined Qingyuan Research of Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track assistant professor in July 2022. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University in June 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Bo Zhang and Prof. Jun Zhu in TSAIL Group. Before that, he received the B.S. degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University in 2017. He was a visiting scholar from July 2016 to September 2016 in Machine Learning Department, Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof. Eric P. Xing.

His principal research interests lie in the development of machine learning and statistical methodology, spanning Bayesian inference, kernel methods, generative models, etc. The developed methods have been applied to scenarios such as data-efficient learning, uncertainty quantification, adversarial defense, automated ML, and MLSys.
